Frequently asked questions for newborn sessions

Welcoming a newborn into your family is an extraordinary moment filled with love and joy. Capturing these precious early days through professional newborn photography is a wonderful way to preserve these cherished memories forever. If you're planning a newborn photoshoot, it's natural that you'll have questions about the process and how best to prepare. In this blog post, we'll address some of the frequently asked questions to help you make the most of your newborn photoshoot experience.

Q: When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

A: It is ideal to schedule a newborn photoshoot within the first 14 days of the baby's life. During this time, babies are more likely to be sleepy and easier to pose, resulting in those adorable curled-up poses that we love so much.

Q: How long does a newborn photoshoot typically last?

A: Newborn photoshoots can last anywhere between 2 and 4 hours.Basically baby rules the show!! If we need to stop for feeding we stop! if we need to stop for snuggles with mummy....we stop!

Q: What should I bring to the photoshoot?

A: Technically the only thing you need to bring to the photoshoot is milk of the baby! Absolutely everything is provided, including outfits, nappies, wipes! You could bring along a spare outfit for parents and siblings as sometimes those little naked babies can get a little sprinkly (if you know what I mean)

If there's something special you'd like included in your images such as a special blanket or a family heirloom, then feel free to bring them along.

Q: What should my baby wear for the photoshoot?

A: Most newborn photoshoots focus on capturing the pure and delicate nature of the baby. As such, it's common for newborns to be photographed without clothing or in simple, neutral-colored outfits. However, you can discuss

outfit options and preferences with your photographer before the session.

Q: How can I prepare my baby for the photoshoot?

A: To ensure a smooth and successful photoshoot, try to keep your baby awake and active for an hour or two before the session. This can help them sleep better during the shoot, allowing the photographer to capture those precious, peaceful moments. Additionally, feeding your baby just before the session can help keep them content and relaxed.

Q: What if my baby becomes fussy or cries during the photoshoot?

A: It's completely normal for babies to fuss or cry during a photoshoot. Professional newborn photographers are experienced in handling and soothing newborns. They will take breaks as needed and work patiently to ensure your baby is comfortable and settled. Don't worry; even in those candid moments, the photographer can capture beautiful and authentic images.

Q: Can I include siblings and parents in the photos?

A: Absolutely! Many families love including siblings and parents in the newborn photoshoot. It's a great opportunity to capture the bond and connection between family members. Discuss your desire to include family members with your photographer in advance, so they can plan accordingly.

Q: How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

A: The editing process typically takes some time to ensure the highest quality of the final images. The timeframe for receiving the edited photos is usually around 2 weeks. After your photoshoot you'll be invited back to the studio for a viewing appointment to choose your favourites. If you opt to have wall art of a collection of printed images, then you can expect your products back in around 4 weeks after selecting.

Q: What can I do with the final edited photos?

A: Once you receive your final edited photos, the possibilities are endless! You can print them to create beautiful wall art, make a custom photo album, share them with friends and family, or even use them for birth announcements. The choice is yours!

Conclusion:

A newborn photoshoot is an opportunity to capture the precious early moments of your baby's life. By addressing these frequently asked questions, we hope to have provided you with valuable insights into the process of planning and preparing for a newborn
