Joshua's first birthday cakesmash
A little over a year ago I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mark and Nicola Hogan. They'd come to see me with their brand new little munchkin Joshua for his first ever newborn photoshoot.
Fast forward a year and here they all are back for his first birthday cakesmash session.
Nicola and I had had some chats to decide upon the theme and colour scheme for Joshuas special session and we eventually decided upon a gold and black "wild one" theme. I got my cake maker on the job ( my cake maker is Kasia from https://www.facebook.com/cake4youglasgow/ ) and then set about organising all the props, outfits and decorations that we'd need.
I love turning my hand to crafty things and I try to make as many of the props as I can. This session was no exception. I got some lovely fabric from http://thecottonprint.com and made a rag bunting. I have the most amazing little machine called the Cricut explore air 2 which allows me to cut lots of different shapes and materials. I used it to cut out the little banners, one letters and the wild one sign.
The day of the session came around and Mark, Nicola and Joshua came along for the session. Joshua was a little reluctant at first but after a bit of baby shark dancing (from me of course haha) we were soon ready to get smashing!!
Joshua absolutely LOVED his cake!!! (even daddy commented on how tasty it was!) He was ever so delicate though and instead of smashing it like a wild one he gently picked away at it!!
Joshua was ever the little serious chops and saved up all his smiles for the splash part of the session!! He really came to life in that bath!!
