Glasgow newborn photographer // But i have an iPhone..........?
Have you thought about hiring a newborn photographer only to look at the price and think....."pfft i can do the same with my phone"! Well do you know what? You wouldn't be alone!!
Ive spoken to people (and some times uhhumm "overheard" conversations) who thought that there's no point in hiring someone nowadays as phone cameras just get better and better everyday! I wholeheartedly agree with this and do use my phone everyday for random snaps of my boys and our little furry one! But thats all they are.....snaps!!
Just before Christmas my phone was due for an upgrade so what did i look for......biggest memory, best battery life, best security? Nope it was the best camera! We all have our phones within reach all the time and I'm no different so i want to be able to use mine for the thing i love the most - taking pictures! With that said, I certainly wouldn't take a picture from my phone and blow it up onto a 30x20 canvas! id be lucky to get it bigger than an 8x10 without looking grainy and pixelated!
So back to the reason i started this rambling......
I was in the studio the other day when i heard some people outside oohing and aaahhhing over the gorgeous little baby pictures in the window. One of them said to the other, "you should book this when you have the baby" to which the other lady replied "nah, no point wasting money when i have an iPhone!"
So this got me thinking, i wonder just how my pictures would compare to an iPhone......
So today i had a little newborn in my Glasgow studio and I decided to grab a quick snap on my iPhone and another from my actual camera and let you see the difference.
By paying a professional you get the complete finished article. Something you can hang proudly in your front room (and in a size as big as your whole wall if your wee heart desires!) not just a pixelated grainy 7x5 if your actually lucky enough to even print it! (More on that later hehe)
So yes, while i agree it is handy to have an iPhone, its also even nicer to have complete - finished pictures to display with pride :)

Now i hope you can tell which one is from the iPhone and which was my camera after all of that haha.
